Senior Director Centre of Excellence Sourcing adidas group Hong Kong

Job Description
This is a key position for a future-looking leader, with a passion for innovation, a finger on the pulse of cutting edge industry trends, and a sharp strategic mind for execution.

THIS INDIVIDUAL WILL:

• Be the right hand to VP CoE Sourcing, maintaining a high profile with the Sourcing Leadership Team and broader Global Operations (GOPS) organization

• Help define the Global Sourcing strategy for a business of US$7bn sourced value, encompassing >700M pieces, pairs and units of Apparel, Footwear and Accessories & Gear respectively
• Anticipate and capitalize on opportunities for transformation in the footwear, athletic and health & lifestyle industries and across the areas of automation, digitization and sustainability
• Build and power innovative sourcing solutions by streamlining structures, capabilities, processes and systems
• Own and manage a project portfolio, including end-to-end resource planning and leadership of project teams and cross-functional partners across the company

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Be abreast of evolving market and consumer expectations and demands and adidas Group capability / channel / sourcing needs (across Global Sourcing and the broader GOPS organization)
• Conduct ongoing benchmarking of adidas Group sourcing capabilities against industry peers
• Create a vision and strategy for global implementation of solutions and tools and set strategic roadmap for roll-out of capabilities across the adidas, Reebok and Taylor Made brands
• Partner with Sourcing, Brand Operations and Supply Chain key stakeholders to ensure strategies are validated, prioritized, aligned and implementation support is provided
• Represent Sourcing in broader corporate initiatives, aligning with the overall mission of the company and forge deep relationships across the business
• Provide ongoing, formal communication of success metrics and targets within the roadmap and related projects
• Produce compelling business case documentation for future-looking initiatives
• Actively mentor and coach teams, providing direction, managing performance, ensuring staff development and fostering a highly motivational working environment

Desired Skills and Experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Thought leader with a competitive spirit, able to help define for adidas where, when and how we should be manufacturing to our maximal advantage
• Compelling executive presence and excellent communication skills with proven ability to motivate, moderate and network effectively
• Creative, energetic visionary, able to influence thinking on effective strategies across all levels of the business
• Strategic thinker, with structured approach to issue identification, quantification and resolution
• Ability to launch large-scale projects by defining efficient project structures, manageable work packages and milestones, as well as securing stakeholder buy in and support
• Strong command of the sourcing process and in-depth supply chain knowledge
• Track record of strategic project management experience, advanced understanding of business process management, methodologies, and principles
• Experience in multi-cultural and cross-divisional management
• Fluent in English; other languages a plus
• Willingness and ability to travel (25%+, globally)

REQUISITE EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:

• University degree with focus on the areas of business, economics, logistics, planning, supply chain, information systems, or operations; MBA a plus
• Large scale project / program management experience; Direct report and team management experience a plus
• 7+ years’ work experience, ideally in an apparel/fashion supply chain management context in a project management oriented function
