Associate Director - DCM - Standard Chartered Bank - Hong Kong


Job description


To assist in the local Capital Markets effort, including the Origination and execution of all Capital Markets transactions.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

- To assist in developing the local Debt Capital Markets business by supporting the Director of Capital Markets in all matters required in pursuing businesses within the bank’s directed strategy and to continue the strive for sustainable competitive advantage.
- To effectively assist in origination and execution of any fixed income transactions, including the implementation of internal processes such as the preparation and receipts of Name Clearance, Customer Fact-sheets and Underwriting Applications; documentation, due diligence, legal liaison, regulatory, etc.
- To effectively support the Capital Markets team in operations, research, meetings, presentations, ceremonies and etc.
- To work effectively with other DCM teams in other countries.
- To work effectively and as a team with both Fixed Income sales and trading teams.
- To work with Structured Asset Solutions group and Syndications group in developing opportunities and cross selling.
- To liaise and work with CR teams in-country.
- To liaise and work with the rest of Global Markets.
- To build effective long-term relationships with major onshore players.
- To work with / liaise with CR and AFI in coordinated efforts for MNC’s and subs issuing onshore.
- To be fully aware of all the policies and procedures issued in relation to Compliance Risk monitoring and Money Laundering Prevention. Ensure compliance with these policies and procedures on an on-going basis. Any suspicious transactions must be reported immediately to the line manager or the Business Money Laundering Prevention Officer / Country Money Laundering Prevention Officer.

Qualifications & Skills

- University/acadamic or similar industry graduate
Key attributes :
1.Strong interpersonal skills;
2.Language skill (Need to write and speak: Mandarin, Cantonese, English a must);
3.Computer skills (strong powerpoint, excel, word. Basics Bloomberg, Factiva, with ability to learn);
4.Ability to work and adapt in fluid environment, resourceful and embraces challenging situations;
5.Good self motivation to learn and improve.
