Vice President - New Business Initiatives Manager - J.P. Morgan - Hong Kong
Job description
JP Morgan Asset Management ("JPMAM") provides investment management products and services to institutional and individual investors worldwide. It offers the full spectrum of investment strategies - from equity, cash management, fixed income, currency and asset allocation to alternative asset classes such as private equity, real estate and hedge funds.
The role will support the Head of Oversight and Control in providing oversight on the new business initiatives activities in the business. Acting as a regional new business initiatives specialist, this role requires active interaction with the front, middle and back office, legal as well as other control functions within the company. In particular, the role has the following responsibilities
Facilitate approval of new business initiatives activities
Carry out on-going monitoring and review of the new business initiatives review process
Ensure minimum standards for the documentation and approval of initiatives are maintained
Coordinate with key business, legal, compliance and other functional representatives to ensure that new business initiatives approval processes are conducted according to the established framework
Review assessment documents to ensure completeness and thoroughness
Qualifications
Strong background in business management and the ability to lead, negotiate, implement best practices, set priorities, plan, facilitate collaboration, coach, direct activities, and hold teams accountable.
Expertise in the effective presentation / visualization of data / findings and the ability to proactively communicate through management updates, presentations, and regular reporting.
Strong analytical skills particularly in regard to assessing the impact of internal control weakness and themes across the supported businesses.
Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to present information in differing degrees of detail and form depending on the audience.
5 years plus experience in business management, finance, risk and/or operational management roles with a strong track record working across organizational lines
Sound knowledge in financial market and product and strong risk and control mindset
Knowledge of the business' flows, products and operations for asset management business is an advantage
Strong understanding of the regulatory environment in major Asia markets is a plus
Self starting individual and a team player
Fluency in English plus good language skills (oral and written) in Cantonese and/or Mandarin
University graduate
