We are now seeking a high candidate to fill the following vacancy in our APAC team, based in Hong Kong:
Director, Corporate Partnerships - Greater China
Responsibilities:
Lead sponsorship sales to drive circulation strategy, grow readership and execute action plans in-line with company goals, through direction and guidance from the Head of Circulation Asia-Pacific.
Work closely with the in-market circulation heads to grow sponsorship revenue, volume and profit with a sharp eye to develop and monetize new and innovative regional circulation initiatives in print and digital. Current marketing platforms include airline lounges/in-flight/private clubs/conferences/database marketing/education and others.
Drive the established 'WSJA Future Leadership Program' to the next level by securing profitable corporate sponsorships across markets and verticals to deliver WSJ content in print and digital to students/ academia. Sponsors partner with WSJA for CSR initiatives, recruitment drives or branding purpose.
Partner with top schools to include WSJ content as part of their curriculum thereby providing students access to our content through channel-neutral platforms.
Work closely with the subs marketing team to develop student pricing strategies to market across Asia Pacific.
Develop and monitor qualitative and quantitative measures of success for new business and client renewals.
Lead a small team of corporate partnership sales managers in Hong Kong and China.
Requirements:
Dynamic and driven sales person with at least 8 years prior experience in consultative direct corporate sales, including a minimum 5 years management experience.
Candidates with experience in the publishing industry would have an advantage.
Ability to lead, manage and coach a commercial team to facilitate accomplishment of team goals set in the business plan, and strengthen team performance to achieve company objectives.
Organizational sensitivity, strong business acumen, good judgment sense and collaborative nature to succeed in consultative sales, with accountability for customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Thirst for knowledge to keep abreast of current industry developments and trends in all relevant technical/professional knowledge areas to stay ahead of competition.
Degree level with an excellent command of written and spoken English.
