Job Description
The position will be based in the company headquarters in Hong Kong and report directly to the Group Director of Sales and Marketing dotted line to Vice President, Brand Communications.
The incumbent will be the group spokesperson whose role is to position, promote and enhance the image and awareness of the Shangri-La brands both internally and externally.
DUTIES
Publicise group initiatives, news and events internally and externally as appropriate.
Ensure consistent brand positioning in corporate press materials and internal communications.
Stage and supervise press conferences, media events, executive interviews, etc.
Contribute to maintaining high visibility in the hotel and travel trade industries through public relations.
Act as liaison between Vice President – Brand Communications and media relations agencies, providing guidance on market and corporate positioning.
Ensure effective structure, work processes and productivity of group’s international media relations network and resources.
Interface between hotels and media relations agencies where necessary to streamline and assist generation of international publicity.
Desired Skills & Experience
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 10 years experience in corporate communications or public relations in international hotel chain
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with strong leadership in a collaborative environment
Knowledge of Mandarin and reading Chinese is a plus
Frequent travel required
