Media Relations Director
The Role:

Bloomberg LP is seeking a PR Director to join the Asia Pacific corporate communications team to be based in Hong Kong. Deep contacts and knowledge of regional and local business, financial and trade media relations essential; as well as understanding of business and financial markets. This position is open immediately for someone looking for an independent, dynamic, fast-paced and multi-faceted role. The PR Director will report to Bloomberg’s Head of Corporate Communications for Asia Pacific.

Responsibilities:

• Represent Bloomberg LP in Hong Kong, build external stakeholder relationships with regional and local press, industry associations and key influencers.
• Work across the business to position, promote and build reputation for Bloomberg’s financial products, media properties and enterprise.
• Engage and help raise profile of Bloomberg executives, TV and news personalities, economists and industry analysts.
• Work closely with regional and global PR team to develop media programs targeting top tier business, financial and trade press.
• Manage media relations around senior executive visits, and corporate and product announcements.
• Proactive and ongoing media relations with senior editors and journalists in Hong Kong.
• Write and distribute bi-lingual corporate/product collaterals and press materials.
Desired Skills & Experience
• 5 – 8 years working experience in public relations
• Excellent oral, editing and writing skills in English [Cantonese and/or Mandarin a plus]
• Extensive media relations experience. Deep network of media contacts in key regional business, financial outlets.
• Knowledge of financial sector, including media landscape, capital markets, and key industry players across asset classes
• Tech-savvy, ability to multi-task, handle volumes of information and work under timelines across different aspects of the business (finance, media, technology)
• Attention to details, resourceful, responsible and strong work ethic
• A team player with a can-do attitude
