AVP - Treasury Funding Trader - Bank of America - Hong Kong


Job description
Global Funding is one of the key areas within Corporate Treasury. Global Funding employees interact daily with internal and external constituents including business lines, other Treasury functions such as Balance Sheet Management (BSM),Corporate Treasury Finance, Enterprise Capital Management (ECM) and Liquidity Risk Management (LRM), internal control partners, regulators, market participants and investors. The mission of Global Funding is to ensure Bank of America Corporation and all its subsidiaries are appropriately funded at all times. The team strives to utilize its global presence to provide efficient funding strategies across the enterprise in the most cost effective manner, while managing the risks associated with those strategies.
Key job responsibilities:
Funding execution
Monitor conditions affecting the funding environment and react appropriately
Participate in daily rate setting and funding trade execution / coordinate with global partners
Balance various factors when sourcing funding including stability, price and accessibility
Monitor opportunities to develop new funding sources as conditions change
Foreign exchange and derivative trade execution
Management of daily cash and collateral positions / communicate with global partners
Manage excess liquidity, meet statutory requirements and achieve maximum efficiency
Funding forecasting
Analyze forward balance sheet to develop detailed funding plan
Work with business partners to develop an understanding of futures business flows
Work closely with international peers to coordinate flows and promote efficiency
Follow up on forecast misses / understand reasons / minimize future variance
Liquidity risk management
Monitor daily liquidity risk metrics and elevate key risks
Produce and enhance routine liquidity reports
Balance sheet governance
Monitor changes in assets and liabilities and understand reasons for change
Ensure that a robust control environment is maintained through compliance with all policies, procedures and directives.
Other
Participate in technology enhancement projects
Perform extensive ad-hoc financial analysis related to funding risks and opportunities
Respond to spontaneous information/reporting requests
Where required, manage interaction with customers
Desired Skills and Experience
Job Requirements:
Undergraduate degree with quantitative focus / prefer finance, accounting or engineering major
Minimum two years treasury, finance or trading experience
Ability to work with minimal supervision and effectively prioritize tasks
Strong Excel skills are a must
Word and PowerPoint proficiency
Ability to communicate effectively across a broad range of constituents including seasoned teammates, upper management and disparate business partners.
Ability to build and maintain strong relationships across the enterprise. Conflict will be part of the job.
General understanding of markets, treasury products including money market and fx instruments, financial statements, liquidity and risk
Capable of high level business communication in English
Beneficial skills / traits:
An appropriate second language is valuable in nations where English is not the primary language
Creative problem solving skills and orientation
Highly motivated to learn, develop and cross train as markets and regulatory environment are dynamic.
A genuine interest in financial markets / a drive to “win”
