Job description
To oversee the implementation of new and renewing flex benefits administration projects (initiation, planning, controlling and closing of projects) including responsibility over project scope, timeline and budget requirements. Applies knowledge, skills, tools, processes and resources to project activities in order to meet all stakeholders’ needs and expectations.
Responsible for project client relationship with key, high profile clients to ensure needs and expectations are met and aligned with agreed scope and requirements.
Build collaborative relationships with project stakeholders in and outside of Hong Kong (e.g., Operations, IT, Consultants) to ensure project objectives with external clients are achieved and projects are delivered cost effectively.
Understand the functionality of the internal flex administration system and serve as the business expertise for the Hong Kong office.
Manage, coach and support a team of 3-4 implementation managers with project management and/or technical skills. Support will include keeping inventory of all project plans, coordinating and assigning projects/tasks to team members, being responsible for project and deployment planning and reporting, preparing proper training manuals to document internal processes, providing hands-on training of the flex benefit administration system and trouble shooting and solving system-related issues that are configurable by the team, etc.
Assess new RFPs/potential implementation projects, including the analysis of existing system functionality, internal processes and resources to ensure adequate resources are aligned for success of the implementation.
Serve as project sponsor for new complex implementation projects
Responsible for overall development of process improvement and enhancement within the client implementation team as well as improve the transition/parallel processes with the administration, IT and consulting teams.
Facilitates peer review and quality assurance protocols that are aligned with Mercer Professional Standards.
Identify risks and scope changes and escalate to appropriate stakeholders.
Work with all areas of the organisation as necessary and participate in the assessment/design of new product / service solutions
Desired Skills and Experience
BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Human Resources Management or Business Administration
Minimum 10 years working experience including 5 years in team and client project management
Previous experience within the insurance or employee benefits industry is essential
Able to liaise with senior and junior management both internally and externally
Must have excellent proficiency with various software applications programs including, Microsoft Project and Excel
Proficient in Microsoft Project, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Strong interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills
Strong analytical and organization skills
Fluent command of both spoken and verbal English. Chinese preferred
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced and deadline oriented environment
Strong customer focus and detail oriented
