Director - Product Management - Transaction Banking - Standard Chartered Bank - Hong Kong

Job description
The principal purpose of this position is to manage, end-to-end, Hong Kong Trade products (documentary, open account trade products etc). The position contributes directly to revenues, asset growth, customer acquisition, curbing attrition, client satisfaction, good product governance and the competitive positioning of the bank.



Key Roles & Responsibilities

Delivering the Numbers
* Joint responsibility with Sales for delivering the revenue and cost numbers.
* Lead with revenue initiatives - repricing, sales campaigns, utilizations, RIWAC usage.
* Interpret and analyze product performance, analyze data, provide forecasts.
* Product standard pricing & costing models; 'say' in any pricing deviations.
* Initiatives to drive down costs, streamline operating processes and enhance revenue.

Strategic Thinking
* Actively contribute to the overall business strategy.
* Develop tactical plans to achieve our vision and leadership positions.
* Understand market trends, competition and environment.
* Complete market sizing. Develop segment value propositions.
* Formulate product requirements, develop roadmap and drive investment decisions
* Alliance and Partner management - alternate channels, non-banking channels.

Execute the Product Agenda
* Customize Group products to meet local requirements.
* Ensure legal and compliance (both internal and external) issues are adhered to.
* Complete product programs, obtain buy-in, and approvals.
* Outline and agree operational flows, to ensure efficient delivery.
* Ensure adequate product knowledge and training to sales and operational teams.



External Focus
* Establish market reputation as experts.
* Speak at conferences, contribute articles, media interviews, organize roundtables etc.
* Organize client events.
* Active participation in conferences, professional organizations e.g Eurofinance, EIU
* Surveys and ratings.

Qualifications & Skills

* University graduate with relevant banking experience, preferably in corporate banking segment.
* Experience in product development.
* Strong credit knowledge (including country risk and risk processes).
* Experience in business case analysis.
* Good understanding of the banking systems and operations.
* Sound knowledge in banking products, banking practices and regulations. Solid Supply Chain Management, Trade and Factoring product knowledge.
* Sound Credit Insurance knowledge.
* Strong IT knowledge with experience in e-commerce and trade technology projects.
* Strong analytical skills; creative and strategic thinker.
* Good project management and presentation skills
* Strong leadership skills and management discipline.
* Good interpersonal skills
* Good communication skills (written and verbal)
