Director - Product Development Specialist - Global Asset Management - HSBC - Hong Kong

Job description
We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Director, Product Development Specialist.

Principal responsibilities
Lead the identification of forward looking themes and opportunities, analysis and development of new products and enhancements to existing products for Asset Management in Asia
Identify relevant market, industry, regulatory, fiscal and investor trends and conduct research,
analysis and testing to identify new opportunities and define appropriate next generation products or new features to existing products
Work closely with the investment and sales teams to identify new investment opportunities that can be developed into a product or solution that fits into the overall product strategy
Identify gaps in existing product line-up and identify new products and propositions to fill these gaps
In conjunction with key stakeholders, convert product ideas into commercially viable and market competitive product designs
Build strong relationships with sales distribution channels and provide clear framework for dealing with new requests

Requirements
Proven track record in asset management product development, both tactically and strategically; and recent direct execution experience
Detailed knowledge of the asset management distribution and product trends
Exposure to research, analysis and the standards and practices for the creation and pricing of products
Strong technical understanding of financial products and investments and understanding of the product delivery environment
Ability to build effective networks both internally and externally
Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills, and a proven ability to clearly articulate investor needs and design solutions to meet those needs, balancing the needs of investors, distributors and shareholders
