Job Description
The Director, Transportation Operations & Trade Compliance, will lead the logistics operations teams – located in Hong Kong, India and Korea – in supporting the Global Transportation & Trade Compliance function. This position will report into the Director, Origin & Asia Transportation. As the leader for transportation operations & trade compliance, this executive is accountable for the execution, budget oversight, talent development and strategic viability of origin logistics services.
The candidate will develop cost-effective, scalable logistics solutions and origin processes that successfully support the multi-channel growth strategies of our global brands, ensuring timely and efficient handoff to the Inbound Operations teams in each respective market including North America, Europe, Asia and Franchise. This leader will partner closely with Trade Compliance teams to ensure customs compliance and timely clearance. Finally, this role contributes to the company’s success by providing strategic planning, functional/industry expertise, and cross-functional collaboration – with a strong focus on brand satisfaction and the development of internal and external relationships.
Desired Skills and Experience
Requirements:
At least 10 years in supply chain management, international logistics, global transportation, retail distribution and/or related professional experience. At least 5 years in a leadership role, managing a team
Technical competencies to include in-depth knowledge of complex, global transportation operations/systems, trade compliance, third party provider management, supply chain management
Business competencies: strategic thinking; tactical planning; strong analytical skills; successful track record delivering results in complex organizations; people and organizational development; time/priorities management; procurement proficiency; project management and change management processes; creativity in problem-solving
Interpersonal competencies: leadership, integrity, maturity; exceptional communication and relationship-building skills; excellent presentation, negotiating and influencing skills; operates from a service-oriented attitude; strong team player
English required; Mandarin a strong plus
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering or related field
MBA, MSIE or other relevant advanced degree a strong advantage
Based in Hong Kong
Travel – International travel, 20% - 35%
