Cash Equities Project Director - Morgan Stanley - Hong Kong


Job description

Trades Processing Project Group (TPP) is a global Operations-based business analysis and project/program management team focusing on delivering business process changes and technology-based solutions for our Cash Equity and Fixed Income businesses across all global markets. Our team partners with Sales & Trading, Operations, Technology and Finance to cover new business enablement, support access to emerging markets and alternative venues, drive front-to-back cost savings / risk reductions and manage mandatory changes for adapting to the rapidly-evolving market and regulatory environment.

This team requires a Project Manager / Business Analyst who will lead and deliver a portfolio of projects to support our expanding client and market offerings, streamline front to back processes, and reduce use of legacy systems. The role provides exposure to key stakeholders and subject matter experts across multiple units and business domains including Core/Program and Electronic Sales & Trading, Trade Support Groups, Client Service Groups, Settlement and Finance.

The individual is expected to serve as both a Project Manager and a Business Analyst capable of managing & delivering projects to meet short to medium term goals to support the dynamic growth in business and market / regulatory changes.

Key responsibilities:
Business Process Definition, Analysis & Solution Design
-Interact with stakeholders to define current state process and business requirements documentation
-Design future state process flows, formulate requirements and identify improvement opportunities
-Define and validate business rules and required business configurations to ensure smooth front-to-back integration, trade booking and enrichment
-Develop comprehensive and robust test cases/plans and co-ordinate/conduct the execution of these tests to ensure successful delivery
-Develop user documentation and training as required.

Project Management
-Track project issues, benefits, costs and pipeline projects for prioritisation
-Assist project managers in formulating business case development
-Consolidate and prepare project steering packs and executive summary for management reporting
-Conduct user training & manage any hand-offs and procedure adjustments to end users and/or training teams

Qualifications

Requirements:

-Bachelor’s Degree or above
-5 to 7 years' relevant investment banking operations experience with proven track record in project management and business analysis
-The ability to perform detailed business analysis is essential, to understand and resolve current issues and assist in the development/definition of the future state vision. This will require the individual to be skilled at extracting requirements from subject matter experts in Operations, Finance, Trading, Sales and Risk Management.
-Excellent communication skills, oral and written fluency in English are required
-MS Office Suite (e.g. Excel, Access, Project)
-Understanding of trade life cycle in cash equity products is an advantage
-Ideally be familiar with common testing tools (e.g., Quality Center or similar)
