Job description
REM (Reengineering & Expense Management) works in close partnership with thebusinesses and support functions (BU’s) to identify and execute opportunitiesto reduce expenses through supply & demand management, processreengineering, strategic sourcing, market data efficiencies and managing theFirm's insurance portfolio. REM carries out this mission through six groups –
Global Expense Management, Firmwide Sourcing, Global Market Data, Risk &Insurance Management, Procure-To-Pay, and Sales and Local Non-Income Taxes.
WithinGlobal Market Data (GMD) the Market Data Analyst (MDA) team partners with eachBU to ensure the most efficient spend and best-fit product choices. Keyfunctions of the Market Data Analyst role include: BU relationship management,financial management, data analysis, competitive product assessment, andbusiness workflow evaluations resulting in a clearly defined and communicatedmarket data strategy.

Key Areas:
BU Relationship Manager
• Maintain ongoing relationship withsenior managers within the business unit Requires in-depth understanding of thedata requirements of the business as well as broad knowledge of the optimalmarket data choices

• Provide dataanalysis, advice, guidance, education on market data products and spend driversto influence business unit strategy for market data services and facilitateplanning for future actions

Demand Management
• Maintain understanding of end userrequirements via end user contact, product trials, market data reviews,execution of product replacement strategies
• Match best product to user needs
• Develop and execute cost managementprograms such as removal of under utilized services and implementation of jobfunction profiling

Vendor Knowledge and Management
• Maintain in depth knowledge ofvendor strategy, vendor account plans and product roadmaps
• Manage strategic direction forproduct demonstrations, pilots, competitive displacement opportunities
• Liaison point between the businessunit and the global sourcing team for global contract renewals to identifypotential action based on new costs, features, or requirements

Financial Management
• Partner with IT Finance to ensure BUunderstanding of cost allocations and finance methodologies
• Provide explanations of cost driversand make recommendations to effect change to the BU cost profile and drivetoward initiative deadlines

Management Reporting
• Create and maintain reporting onbusiness unit market data inventories and product utilisation both at a summaryand detailed level
• Produce management summaries forinitiatives and projects

Strategic Projects
• Utilize business unit and vendorknowledge to create and advocate for strategic cost management and best-fitproduct choice initiatives such as vendor displacement, product upgrades, andbusiness unit market data audits
• Participate in / lead globalinitiatives
• Partner with Market Data Analysts inthe other regions

Escalation point for Global Market Data Admin Team
• Liaise with business unitadministrators, market data administration and vendors to resolve queries when needed

Qualifications
• 7 years of relevant experience working with market data
• Candidateshould be analytical, proactive and assertive; excellent communication (verbaland written) and interpersonal skills
• Abilityto communicate with colleagues/clients at all seniority levels
• Teamplayer who is self sufficient, flexible to demanding change in priorities, andcan expedite work to business unit timelines in a collaborative manner
• Abilityto develop and advocate for recommendations/solution implementation; criticalthinking and translation of business needs to actionable items; ability toanalyse undefined requirements and clarify to specific tasks and deliverables
• GoodMarket Data Product knowledge (data content and functionality) for the broadrange of providers serving the institutional, asset management and retail users
• ExcellentPC skills, particularly in Microsoft Office
