Director - Corporate Banking - HSBC - Hong Kong
Job description
We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Director, Greater China Large Corporates.
Principal responsibilities
Maximize operating profits by leading team to maximize business opportunities from customers, formulating and implementing strategies in line with the Commercial Banking Strategic Plan
Provide direction on business development and focus by engaging in business activities
Build a strong committed team by effective use of Performance Scorecards, providing guidance, mentoring and counseling on product knowledge, selling and credit skills; by contributing to formulation of schemes within Commercial Banking Hong Kong to reward and recognize performance, and by identifying and developing talents
Safeguard Commercial Banking from potential risk/loss, whether credit, operational or reputational related by reinforcing stringent credit assessment with emphasis on Know-Your-Customer (KYC), contributing to the establishment of credit /lending policy and guidelines and the compliance
Contribute to Hong Kong management team with high-level decision making by taking up functional accountabilities where appointed that are crucial to Commercial Banking's continued success and to its smooth business alignment with other customer groups, products, and support functions
Ensure strict cost control and operational efficiency by reinforcing a mindset of ‘work smarter’, driving internal re-organization to streamline process and bottleneck, and by promoting continuous improvement in cost control
Work closely with HSBC China branches, and various product partners like Global Banking and Markets, Insurance, Payments and Cash Management, Global Trade and Receivables Finance to ensure clients are getting the support they warrant from a size and complexity of needs point of view
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in business, related field, or equivalent experience
Extensive product knowledge of Commercial Banking with proven and progressive corporate banking experience or equivalent
Good people management skill and proven managerial experience
Strong organizational, analytical, negotiation, communication, teamwork and influencing skills
Extensive knowledge and proven sales success with the Bank’s products and services, or equivalent
Credit training and equivalent experience
Strong background in customer facing roles
In-depth knowledge of regulations impacting the business and the lending and credit approval process
