Senior Director - Centre of Excellence Sourcing - adidas group - Hong Kong


Job description
Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

Be the right hand to VP CoE Sourcing, and as such also perceived by the Sourcing SMT and organization
Set up and drive key strategic initiatives (e.g. Speed, SBP 2020) at the Senior level (M1+) in the Global Sourcing, as well as other GOPS Functions
Drive continuous alignment and communication across operational divisions at the Senior level (M1+) in the Global Sourcing area

Build scalable solutions that can be implemented across future markets and business channels
Drive and ensure the development and implementation of organizational structures, capabilities, processes and systems to successfully implement innovative Sourcing solutions
Lead project team and cross functional partners, and manage overall resource planning for team. Own and manage project portfolio


Key Responsibilities:

Create vision and strategy for global implementation of tools and solutions for sourcing with in mind our market and consumer needs
Identify and understand sourcing and channel needs in line with the sourcing and GOPS strategy. Ensure solutions are scalable and applied globally across brand. Define strategic roadmap for roll-out of capabilities
Drive the identification of capability needs of the sourcing organization and ensure the implementation of organizational best practices
Benchmark adidas Group sourcing capabilities with others in the industry. Build a continuous improvement strategy with relevant stakeholders.
Represent sourcing stakeholders in relevant corporate initiatives and ensures a close alignment with the overall mission of the company.
Work closely with Sourcing, Brand Operations and Supply Chain key stakeholders to ensure strategies are validated, prioritized, aligned and implementation support is provided
Provide formal, continuous communication to and alignment with leadership stakeholders on success metrics and business relevant targets within the roadmap and related projects
Build, manage and develop several teams of project managers and process experts towards the achievement of agreed upon goals
Actively mentor and coach project managers to help support and further their growth in aspects of the professional content of their project management role.

Link up with and leverage resources and expertise from other Center of Excellence departments in order to guarantee holistically optimized end-to-end solutions

Desired Skills and Experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Strategic thinking, ability to lift issues to adequate managerial level, balanced with pragmatic and goal driven implementation approach
Very good understanding of the sourcing process as well as in depth knowledge of the overall supply chain
Structured approach to issue identification, quantification and resolution
Strong general management and communication skills
Excellent project management tool-kit
Proven track record of strategic project management experience, advanced understanding of business process management, methodologies, and principles
Excellent presentation and communication (written and verbal) skills and personal presence, with proven ability to interact, influence and convince at senior management level
Ability to get large scale projects off the ground by defining efficient project structures, manageable work packages and milestones as well as getting adequate stakeholder buy in and support
Skilled moderator, motivator, influencer and networker
Experienced in multi-cultural and cross-divisional management
Fluent in English, ideally in other languages
Knowledge of MS-Excel, MS-Word, MS-PowerPoint
Willingness and ability to travel (25%+, globally)


Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

University degree with focus on the areas of business, economics, logistics, planning, supply chain, information systems, or operations; MBA a plus.
Large scale project / program management experience required; Direct report and team management experience a plus.
10+ years work experience, ideally in an apparel/fashion supply chain management context in a project management oriented function
