Job description
This newly created regional role of Director, Solution Specialists is within HDS’ APAC Solutions and Product team. The incumbent will lead a cross-regional team of technology solutions specialists to drive platform infrastructure, converged infrastructure, application, content, mobility, data protection and big data solutions into the APAC market. As a technology enabler for this business, this team will provide specialist support for HDS business development and account management to enable and support in-country pre-sales to qualify opportunities, respond technically to inquiries,
including requests for information, building configurations for proposals, perform demonstrations of HDS products and technologies. In addition to field activities, this role will liaise closely with HDS Product Management and Engineering to ensure the solutions meet market requirements. The Solution Specialists Director should be self- motivated, be a thought-leader in the 2nd and 3rd platform solutions and balance sales and technical competency in order to be proficient in this position. This is a highly skilled and highly specialized position which requires a high degree of confidence, technical competency, excellent communication and presentation skills and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities
Direct a team of solution specialists to enable Pre-Sales teams to position and architect HDS technology solutions. This includes the qualification, design, architecture, size and configuration of HDS technology solutions
Technical authority for creation of comprehensive response to strategic and complex requests for qualifications, configuration and proposals
Work with internal Pre-Sales organisations, partners, vendor and industry experts, A&E consultants to devise state-of-the-art technical solutions to complex application and vertical solutions
Evangelise HDS technology solutions
Create, maintain and improve upon processes, systems and templates for use throughout the organization and on subsequent proposals
Work with HDS sales and engineering to perform site surveys and respond to requests for proposal/quote
Manage library of responses and work with sales administration for completion of customer business requirements forms and submittals
Work with Product Management, Engineering, R&D and technology partners to test and validate conceptual designs being proposed
Perform knowledge transfers to technical project leads and program management
Work with key stakeholders to create content and deliver presentations to customers for HDS solutions
Gather feedback from field and Pre-Sales on application of systems and possible modifications to improve upon system performance well as reliability, availability and maintainability
Requirements
B.S. Information Technology or Computer Science or related field required
M.S. or M.B.A. preferred
15 + years of experience managing designing and/or engineering complex IT related solutions
10 + years of experience working in technical fields to include video surveillance systems
5 + years of experience leading technical teams
Strong leadership, communications and presentation skills
Strong writing and organizational skills
