Role overview
As an expert exerting full Product Ownership throughout its Life Cycle, translating business needs into Product portfolio’s and Supplier Development Engineering solutions for the assigned business, typically with subordinate managers and/or senior level staff who exercise full supervision in terms of costs, methods, and staffing.
Manages relatively inhomogeneous functions of Life Cycle Management (LCM), Supplier Development Engineering (SDE) and Competence Team (CT) and activities, often for several groups globally
Key Responsibilities
Define objectives, policies, processes and budgets on short and long term, ensuring his/her SDE-LCM organization can meet the objectives in SDE, LCM, and CT’s and ensures that the roles and responsibilities are in place


Formulates and implements vision/direction/strategy and steers his/her team to add maximum value to the business, impacting the business immediately and in the future
Manages capabilities of the team to develop and maintain a long term view on the required competences and knowledge related to SDE, LCM and CT’s
Responsible for talent review in the SDE-LCM function in the Business Group (BG)
Ensures there are adequate resources and tools at the proper time and is responsible for maintaining and improving knowledge and expertise in his/her part of the organization to exceed business expectations
·Ensures adherence to the agreed way of working and the usage of the adequate toolset in line with cross sector guidelines
Content wise inspires and contributes to cross-organizational business strategy, procurement strategy and SDE-LCM activities
Manages capabilities of the team to develop and maintain a long term view on the required competences and knowledge related to SDE, LCM and CT’s
Ensures an engaged, innovative, and inspiring working environment by motivating, challenging and coaching the team members towards growth, manages and optimizes the working climate, stimulates entrepreneurship and drives engagement
Is co-responsible for achieving BG AOPs, guides SDE-LCM engineers and ensures optimal allocation of engineers to projects, activities and suppliers
Cooperates with commodity management, product development, procurement engineering and other relevant parties, programs and category management.
Establishes a network with relevant players in and outside the organization, and actively uses this network to improve the results of the group/team/BG
Responsible for timely completion of supplier audits, assessments and supplier performance management in the BG
Manages top-level executive relationships with key customers
Prepares supplier audits/scans for suppliers identified by the commodity teams, e.g. team, should-cost modeling, supplier acceptance, audit strategy
Ensures the Commodity Teams are provided with all relevant information to support contract negotiations, cost roadmaps etc.
Maintains a database with relevant supplier information and benchmark information
Develops and maintains a standardized toolbox aligned with the SDE-LCM community
Prepares the integral cost breakdown (current state) for the purchased products at the supplier (SDE) and maintains Technical Product Data (LCM)
Supports DfX conventions with in depth understanding of the supplier cost structure and/or audits the supplier to obtain this insight.
Supports suppliers with ideas for sustainability improvements
Supporting lean processes and change management at suppliers
Manages products throughout the entire product lifecycle in LCM arena, ensuring continuous improvement on Quality and Cost and implements mandatory regulatory changes. Manages version control. Manages the introduction of new country versions


Job Requirements
Sound knowledge of engineering, with preferably experience in an industrial environment
Knowledge of manufacturing and product development processes and outsourced manufacturing
Proven ability in managing multi-disciplinary teams
Understands business trends, and its impact on supply management
Possesses a broad understanding of current and future Product lines and life cycles
Ability to develop effective networks of internal and external customers, suppliers, the procurement community, vendors and consultants
Knowledge of lean management and change management
Expert in process improvements, cost optimization, modern engineering methods, tools, processes, statistical data analyses and development methodologies (e.g. Design for 6Sigma, DfX, etc).
Expertise in improvement methods, such as 5S, Kaizen, JIT, TPM, Value Stream Map
Managerial and organizational capabilities
High Performance Management, coaching and influencing skills
Establishes medium term (3-5 yrs) supplier development strategy for assigned business;
Coordinates all relevant X-functional stakeholders around assigned product portfolio;
Ensures portfolio management and maintenance throughout product lifecycle; Phase in, continues improvement and Phase out
Applies change management knowledge ensuring procurement set up new style for assigned business;
Able to operate on BG level

Provide value added business support to help business achieve top line and bottom line growth
Provide valuable recommendations to the long-terms strategy of the APAC Apps and SaaS LOB relating to growth, Go-To-Market, deployment of people, and ROI Decisions
Develop, recommend, and implement financial policies, practices, and process changes
Develop, implement, and integrate financial practices across multiple organizations and locations
Review and approve recommendations for financial planning and control
Prepare, administer, and direct the control of the budget
Monitor divisions and subsidiaries adherence to budgets
Assist in forecasting process, including improvement of process to increase efficiency in sales teams

Job Requirements
Assists in the development of short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives. Regularly interacts across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure unit objectives are met. Ability to influence thinking or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Serves as process owner; ability to identify cross-functional issues. Demonstrated leadership skills. 15 years relevant experience and BA/BS degree in Accounting or Finance preferred. CPA/MBA desired.

Responsibilities

Manage Finance involvement with Apps/SaaS line of business (LOB) operations
Manage the annual budget process alongside Apps/SaaS Management, providing guidance on appropriate levels of growth in terms of revenue and margin
Review and provide insight to the monthly forecast process, highlighting specific opportunities for improvement or risk items that may impact the forecast call
Manage compensation planning process for Apps/SaaS Sales including annual sales quota reviews and Apps/SaaS/Cloud Delivery Bonus Pool structure
Represent Finance in periodical Regional Apps/SaaS Practice reviews
Provide Apps/SaaS LOB Management with ad-hoc financial analysis, through collaboration with the Global Financial Information Centre (GFIC)
Work with Global Business Practices to provide finance leadership regarding business practices in Apps/SaaS, and the communication of these practices to the Apps/SaaS business
Provide assistance with the enforcement of the company's financial policies and controls and resolving issues relating to various financial transactions, accounting structure changes and any exceptions to regular policies & procedures
Ensure systems used to provide accurate and timely financial data and Apps/SaaS/Cloud are operational and reliable
Liaise between Apps/SaaS LOB and other internal groups (e.g. Tax, Rev Rec, Legal) to provide guidance and interpretation of Oracle policies
Work with GFIC teams (Controllers, AR, Order Management, etc) to review B/S, DSO, unearned revenue and other financial KPIs. Taking actions to improve KPIs where possible
Review Balance - work with business ops and GFIC Controllers to review unbilled / unearned revenue items and other accruals on the balance sheet, taking actions to reduce balances where possible
Assist Mergers & Acquisitions with due diligence and/or financial integration activities
Participate actively in the development of financial best-practices across APAC and the rest of the world
Support functional activities across APAC as led by the Finance management
